Our History
At Sparta Systems, we pride ourselves on providing cutting-edge solutions designed to address the unique challenges of the construction industry. Our expertise spans a wide range of services, including the installation of ceilings, partitioning, dry lining, structural framing, and fire stopping.
2011
- We first registered Sparta Systems as a business.
2012
- In March 2012, we landed our first contract for plastering work at Loam Pit Vale Leisure Centre, followed by a dry lining and ceilings package.
- By September our first set of accounts filed for £200k turnover.
2013
- We reached our goal of doubling turnover from the previous year.
- We then secured our first BAM construction project- The Calverley Building at Leeds Beckett University.
2014
- Once again, we doubled our turnover from the previous year.~
- In December we also commenced work on our first Wates construction project – Fenby Academy in Bradford.
2015
- Sparta had now cumulatively paid out £1m in labour.
- Employed our first apprentice, Dominic Riley.
- We had successfully tripled the turnover from previous year, reaching a £2.5m turnover. A target the business had set from the very beginning.
2016
- Dave Metcalfe joins us at Sparta Systems.
2017
- Sparta’s first management away trip to Berlin.
- Sparta commenced work on our first Sir Robert McAlpine project – Airedale Hospital in Keighley.
2018
- We achieved our first Mental Health First Aid accreditation and Constructionline Gold.
- We survived a major client going into liquidation, despite having carried out approximately £4m of work for them over the last few years.
2019
- David Fordham and Tony Toulson both reached 5 years of employment with Sparta.
- We also commenced work on our first GMI project – IAMP Sunderland.
2020
- Andy Carr, Shaun Bates, Andrei Bagrin, and Natalie McDermott all reached 5 years of employment with Sparta Systems.
2021
- Matty Toulson and Dave Metcalfe reached 5 years of employment with Sparta Systems.
- Sparta celebrates our 10-year birthday!
2022
- In September 2022, we achieved ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 accreditations.
2023
- We received our Living Wage accreditation.
- Sam Varley and Michael Boyes both hit the 5-year milestone at Sparta Systems.
2024
- Jason Ryles and Tommy Shotton reached 5 years of employment, while David Fordham and Tony Toulson reached 10 years.
- We also commenced work on our first Artium project – Toft Green in York.
- Cavalier became a health and wellbeing partner.
2025
- Andy Carr reached 10 years of employment with Sparta.
