Refurbishment of Offices into a New School
Refurbishment and reconfiguration of the Future House office, grounds, and adjoining conference centre into teaching and sports facilities for the new Academy.

Sparta worked closely with this project early doors to ensure there was a clear strategy for tackling all aspects of fire strategy for this project, which meant a collaborative approach to the builder’s work openings and location of services. This benefitted all parties when getting close to handover, as there were very few snags raised.

The challenges came from the usual places when dealing with a refurb, as well as the New Sports Block with a tight programme. So it was refreshing to have a well-thought-out design and sequence which proved that being involved early enough can pay for itself at completion.

As well as reducing the amount of waste in the design stages, we made sure all plasterboard waste was segregated and recycled. We also took advantage of the Omega status with Armstrong to ensure all mineral fibre ceiling tile waste was recycled with Armstrong.
